Jason Switzer became Executive Director of ACTia in 2016, where he has led growth of the Association to over 80 member clean tech ventures, investors and cleantech support organizations. A 2017 Clean 50 recipient for co-founding the national Canada Cleantech Alliance, Jason also vice-chairs the$100M oil and gas open innovation network Clean Resource Innovation Network and is a board member of the Agtech focused Biological Carbon Canada.
Jason came to ACTia after 8 years at the Pembina Institute, and nearly a decade prior in international development and corporate environmental management with positions including environmental excellence advisor at Cenovus Energy Inc. and senior greenhouse gas engineer at Shell Canada Oil Sands. In his previous role at the Pembina Institute, he co-led the national consulting team, through which he managed multi-stakeholder low carbon innovation-focused processes for clients including Shell, TOTAL, Suncor, the shale gas sector and its stakeholders, and the Canadian Hydropower Association.
Jason holds master's degrees in environmental engineering and in public policy from MIT and is a Harvard-trained environmental mediator, an alumnus of Leadership Calgary, and was a fellow at the World Commission on Dams
